Sick, Sicker, Sickest

Arkansas. Freaking Arkansas with its pollen and mold and other mini-allergy-demons flying around.  *shakes fist at sky*  I cannot stay well here! The bees and the flowers start getting busy, pollen starts flying and all of a sudden I am down for the count for a week. My allergies turn into a sinus infection which turns into a raging sinus infection which turns into an upper-respiratory tract infection. The base clinic never has appointments for dependents, so off to the urgent care place I go! I like the doctors at the urgent care clinic and I got to talk to a trans-sexual woman the last time I was there, so it isn't a total loss. Hopefully, I get a Z-pack and some good cough medicine and feel better because I am completely miserable right now.

Today was another "WHY" day from Jack. He was most interested in the body today and here were some of his questions:

"WHY do we have brains?? Do I have a brain? (yes) Does Daddy have a brain? (yes) Do police officers have a brain? (yes) Do nice guys have a brain? (yes) Do you have a brain? (yes) No you don't! You don't have a brain. Why don't you have a brain?? (I do.) No, I don't think you do. Do cats have a brain? (yes) Do fishes have a brain? (yes)"

"WHY do we have skin? (so our bones don't fall out) Why would our bones fall out? (i don't know...i don't feel good..maybe we should be quiet for a while) Why don't you feel good? Did your bones fall out? (no, they didn't) Why not?! (because I have skin) WHY do you have skin?? (*facepalm*)"

Last week, I got tired of the vicious "WHY" circle, so I made a rule that he has to actually ask a real questions instead of just saying "why". I am starting to regret that because now he hardly takes a breath between questions and he usually chooses to do this in the car. Sometimes by the time I drop him off at therapy and he goes inside, my ears are ringing....and that is only a 10 minute drive!

He is still awake and successfully raiding the candy jar when no one is looking, so I snapped a few photos. The red spot on his forehead is from where he took his seatbelt off too soon and I had to slam on my brakes right before our driveway and he bonked his head. I don't think he will be taking it off from now on until I tell him!
