Of course, Jack was up and at em with the sun but I actually got to sleep in today! I always try to convince Jackson to sleep late and it usually goes like this on the weekend:
6:30 am
Jack: "Mommy! The sun is up!"
Me: "Nooooo...that is just the moon. Go back to sleep."
Jack: *quiet for ten hopeful seconds* "NOOOO, that is the sunshine and sunshine means we need to GET UP!"
And on a school day, this happens:
6:30am
Me: "Jack! Time to get up and get dressed for school!"
Jack: "NOOoooOOoaoOOO, I don't wanna! School is boooooooooring!"
Me: "No way dude! School is fun!"
Jack: "NO! I want to sleep! Go away!"
Ugh. Why do they do that?! How do I get him to wake up happily on school days and then sleep in just a bit on weekends? Maybe the sleeping in only happens when they get to be teenagers but you open a whole new can of worms when that happens.
We had a good day today. Apparently, the guys want to go.....camping. I don't camp. I mean, I have done it but it wasn't my favorite thing ever. But I know Jack will like it and Garry will like it and I will get plenty of time to read my kindle and take pictures of Jack, so it will be okay. I wouldn't mind posh camping...like in a cabin but the guys want to go in a tent. We went to Gander Mtn to look for a tent and that is the manliest man store I have ever set foot in! They had all kinds of things for shooting and hunting and fishing and making your own jerky and target practice and pooing in the wild. Jack thinks he has to have a toy everywhere we go and he found this hilarious playset with a truck towing a camper and it came with camping stuff, fish, fishing poles, a hunter, etc. It was like $30, so I made him put it back and he blew a fit. :P
Tonight, I was driving home from a shoot and I was looking at the sunset. It was really pretty and I thought "Wow! That cloud over the sun is shaped like a circle!" and then I drove on and forgot about it. When I got home, I saw a bunch of posts about the eclipse -- I had totally forgotten! "Round cloud" indeed. *facepalm* And my camera was sitting right there! I didn't even take a picture. Ugh.
I did get a picture of the STOP sign outside the back gate of the base though. It is upside down for some reason. You know me...always taking photos of the important and historical things. /sarcasm
