One Week..

Finally...finally I can say that we are down to a week. Seven more days in Arkansas and we will be on our way to Texas and then to Germany. And finally I can say that it has started feeling like an adventure! I was pretty unhappy about the whole thing until the movers came and packed us up. My house doesn't look like "my house" anymore! And I can't believe that this is my last night to sit and enjoy the back porch. I will miss this most of all! My current view:

Jack got to go visit his school for the last time last Friday and and he said "goodbye" to his teachers and some of his friends. We are so glad that he had the opportunity to go to Pre-K this year because he is a completely different kid than he was at the first of the school year! I had to get a 'HECK YEAH!' photo in front of the school, haha.

So, last weekend, Jack had his Grandmama in town too and they played a lot. They threw the little firecracker snapper things, played with toys, read books and had a good time. He was impressed with her "sharp claws" that she used to open toys, lol. He was also relieved that Grandmama bought a little aquarium and took our 7 fishies home to live at her house. :)

He blew glitter at me....

On Tuesday, the movers came to pack up all of our stuff and someone had to be there with them...but Jack had therapy too! We ended up being dropped off at 11:30 and we had to stay till 4:30 because I have no car (GRRRR) and Garry was busy. That made a 2 1/2 hour gap where we had nothing to do so we walked down to Wendy's for lunch and then to Hastings bookstore. Here are some magazines that were in the children's section that Jack almost picked up. Classy, huh?

On our way back, he got tired of walking. "Oh nooooo! Not 1/4 mile!! "  :P

Daddy taught Jack to play violin and he took a squishy baff (yes that is what it is called)...

Hmm...I guess that is about it as far as catching up goes. It took me forever to add these photos! The sun has gone down and down and down. I surely will miss this back porch. The last photo was taken just as TAPS from the base played the last note.

A Day At the Hizz-ouse

Yeah. I have no car...and that is not working out so well for me. Do you know what I did today? Nada. I didn't do a darn thing except play on Reddit and read my Kindle and as I type this I am increasingly aware of how pitiful and whiny this sounds. It is really worse than it sounds though! I hate, hate, hate being at the mercy of someone else when I want to go somewhere. Especially                                                                                          (sentence redacted to promote marital harmony). Anyhoo, so I stayed at home all day with Jack, who hates to stay home as much as I do. So here is what we did:

1. We played Trouble. Here are the stages of anger he went through when I won:

2. I got bored of being such an awesome Trouble winner and decided to rig up a swimming pool. You know, because I am an awesome mom and stuff. I told him to go in the house and grab a few toys and when he did, I walked down into the yard and grabbed the sandbox. I washed it out good and started filling it with water and Jackson was still not back outside. As I walked up to the door, I could hear him absolutely YOWLING his head off inside! I ran inside and he looked shocked to see me. Here is what happened:

Me: "What happened, Jack?!"
Jack: (tears running down his face) "I went outside to see you and I thought you had turned into a button!!!!"
Me: ".......a...button?"

Apparently, he walked back outside when I was around the side of the house. In the chair where I had been sitting was a button and Jackson thought I had turned into a button. He picked it up and ran back inside and held onto it. LOL, poor kiddo!

Here he is climbing and swimming in his ghetto pool.

And here he is when he discovered that he has prune-y fingers and toes. He does NOT like the prunies. What an awful day for the poor kid! First, his mom beats him at Trouble and then she goes and turns into a button and then he gets prunies! Sheesh!

3. He climbed. And faceplanted. Good times

And finally, a friend came to visit from Idaho and he brought his guitar, so Garry and his grandpa and Brandon had a big jam session in the backyard for about 10 hours, lol. No really...don't let the "lol" fool you..it really was like 10 hours. They even somehow talked me into singing "Killing Me Softly". It wasn't pretty! I mean, my singing wasn't. The playing was nice. Garry bought a new guitar when he was out and about, freely driving about nilly-willy in his personal vehicle. That is it, below.
