Today was Columbus Day...apparently. Jack and I slept in (we were both EXHAUSTED) and took our time getting out of the house. I really wanted to get a new project going because it keeps me busy and happy to have sewing to do, so we went to JoAnne's Fabrics in North Little Rock. And, can I just say that I am SO proud to have finally learned the difference between North, South, East and West Little Rock and Little Rock? Anyway, I noticed that there was NO ONE on the street, which was weird for 10:30 on a weekday. Made me worry that some weird disaster happend that I didn't know about, lol. I think that there was no one on the street because they were ALL at JoAnne's. UGH! It took me an hour to get in and out of that place but I kinda lucked out because I spent $30.00 on fabric, thread and new scissors when I would have spent over $55.00! So, yay for Columbus Day!
After that, I had to get my foot checked out and I got a shot in it because it doesn't want to heal up all the way and we ran home to change and eat and then we went to meet Ashley, Tiffany and their boys (and Miss Saige) at the park in Cabot! It was SO much fun to get out and actually talk to other women who are fun to be around. Jack played for about an hour and a half and I think he hugged every kid on the playground (he reminds me of the turtle on Wonder Pets, haha!). When we left, the ice cream man drove by and since I have been working on weekends a bit, I have missed out on my snow cones for the past 2 Sundays, so I bought Jack a Shrek and me a snow cone. He has gotten really funny about eating ice cream in the car and he got mad and threw Shrek when I opened it for him. After I threatened to throw it out of the window, he ate it and took a nap, haha. I knew he was tired! We ran to the grocery store and got some supplies and went home and ate dinner. And he had to have a cupcake.....and 51% of my snow cone. This child can EAT!
It is a well-known fact that I have had dinosaur feet since I wear flip flops all of the time. The last time I had a pedicure was before I got pregnant with Jack. Ewww, I know. Anyway, I bought a pumice stone and some plum nail polish and fixed my feet in the bathtub. It took FOREVER and then Jack used my pumice stone as a sword to vanquish the cats (it is on a stick). He was SO fascinated by me painting my toenails. He went from being in crazy-baby mode to standing mesmerized and he kept saying, "oh how pretty!". After I finished, he hopped up on the loveseat in my bedroom and said, "Okay, now you paint Jacky's toenails." I explained to him that it is more of a girl thing but he said, "Mommy, PWEASE? It is SO pretty!" and I had to do it. Haha!! It looks adorable but I didn't do my best job because he kept squirming. He was so pleased when I was finished though. I am going to let him wear it for a day or two and then I will take it off of him and paint my toenails after he goes to bed from now on, hehe.
