The First Day of School

Wow.  I remember sitting in the hospital, holding Jack, thinking about how I would take him to school one day.  It seems like that was just a short while ago and I guess it was.  Four years is not such a long time afterall.  I always thought I would be really sad but instead, Jack and I were so ready for this!

School actually started last Monday, so the kids were given a project that was due today to make a photo collage that was all about them.  Obviously, I wasn't going to let Jack cut out the photos, so I cut them out and pieced them together on the paper but he did everything else.  He glued them down and put the stickers on and everything.  Sometime this week, he will get to go in front of the class and tell them all about his photos.  I asked him to do that for me and and he told me what every single photo was!  :)

And I had to include his little stamper suprise photos  from last night.  I am so glad that the butterflies came off.  And also him shooting me a bird while showing me his monster, lol.

So here is his lunch for his first day!  He has a big sandwich and a small star sandwich that I made with a cookie cutter.  He has 1 cup of mixed fruit -- grapes and strawberries and some colby and monterey jack cheese hearts that I cut out with a knife.  Then "green chips" (sour cream and onion) and a few little cookies.  :)

He went to sleep pretty easy last night, right around 9:30 and decided to magically pop awake at 5:00.  I was really not thrilled about that because I didn't fall asleep until 2:00.  Erg.  He got up and ate some blueberry yogurt and I got him dressed, took some pics and off we went!  At the school, he went right into his classroom and ran to sit on the rug with the other kids without a backward glance, lol.  I called him over to give me loves and then Garry and I left and he seemed to do great!  On the way out, we paid for his breakfast for the whole week and Garry wanted to peek back in on him but we decided that was a bad idea.  :)
