Oh No! The Cicada!
A few weeks ago, I was sitting on the back porch watching Jack play on his swingset when he suddenly let out a squeal and ran to me yelling "Oh no, Mommy! Help, help! The beetle is going to get me!" I just laughed and told him that beetles don't bite and to "go play" and he was adamant that I needed to remove the beetle from his swingset, so I walked over there and saw that it was a cicada shell. I figured he would be interested because he loves anything science-y, so I took it down and tried to show him but he was NOT having it! He stood about six feet away and would back up when I got closer, so I decided to have a little fun. When he wasn't paying attention, I hung it on his shirt and he TOOK OFF running and screaming through the yard, haha! It was SOOO funny.
Well, today we found another (even bigger) shell on his swingset and he requested that I remove it. This time, he actually touched it and carried it around for a while. We couldn't stay outside for too long though because it was about 112 degrees and humid. I surely am sick of this Arkansas weather.
Okay, so my child has a butter obsession. Being on a diet, I cannot have normal butter because of the calories, so I buy this spray kind to spritz my veggies to make them more tolerable. Well, he has taken a liking to it and will sneak it out of the fridge and spray it in his mouth as fast as he can. I fuss at him and make him put it back and he just sneaks it out again later. He is like a butter addict, lol.
And he has been doing a great job of sleeping in his own bed! I am so proud of him!! He usually ends up in bed with me but he always starts his night here and is there for at least 6-7 hours and that is amazing for me!
