Today, I decided to spend some time with my little guy! We had a picnic at Burns Park and then we went to play at the little cabin, the red bridge and then the rocket slide. Jack LOVED the little cabin, or the "wittle cabin". He made me stay in there with him, so that he could dance, lol! He danced all over the floor, peeked out of the windows and climbed on the fences outside. We played there for at least an hour and I finally got him to get in the car and we drove to the red bridge. He liked it okay but was kind of obsessed with a big bumblebee there -- a "big buzzy bee". He dug and threw dirt, scared me repeatedly on the dock, and picked leaves off of the tree. Then we went to the Rocket Slide. This is a 3 story slide complex, shaped like a big rocket and it is for ages 5-12. I climbed all the way to the top with him the first time and he did great! After that, I just sat at the bottom and watched him GO! He looked so tiny on it but he was completely fearless. After watching him slide a few times, he made me go up there and it scared the crap out of me, haha! He did great though!
After we left, we went to THREE fabric stores to get enough fabric for me to make his Halloween shirt for his pumpkin patch photos. It is my very first applique!

Day 25 -- The Day of AWESOMENESS!!!!

Karma. When it comes back to bite you in the butt, it sucks. But when all of the good deeds you have ever done converge in a burst of rainbows and unicorns at that one glorious point in your life, it is a wonderful, wonderful thing. Like today. I have been showing Jack karate videos on YouTube to prepare him for karate class. It is good to know he pays attention.
I was standing in line at the BX and some bitchy lady with a kid a little bigger than Jack behind me noticed Jack's Bama shirt and said, "Ooh, I am training my son to beat up little boys who wear Alabama shirts." Who says that kind of thing about someone's kid? I mean, really! I was about to reply, "Sounds like someone is bitter about the Alabama/Arkansas game!!!" when my son decided to pay me back for every sleepless night, every sacrifice, ever bit of the 11lbs I toted around and gave birth to. He turned and karate chopped that kid in the neck, yelling "KA-CHOW!!!!".

***ANGELS SING***
The kid fell on the ground, yelling and his mom looked horrified. I told the lady, "No...I don't think anyone will be beating him up anytime soon. Sorry about that." And I smiled the biggest, most brilliant smile of my life.
Now, I am not condoning Jack hitting other kids because I had a talk with him about that after we got out to the car. And I feel sorry for the other little kid (who was almost 6!) because he couldn't help it that his mom has PMS because her team sucks. It was just the feeling you get when that cop speeds past you and catches the guy who just cut you off, you know? Only times 1 bajillion zillion million.
My kid is pure awesomeness.
After we got home, we made Trick or Treat bags for Daddy and his work people and for Uncle Scott and Jack painted Daddy a rhino and put stickers on his card. It was a good day. :)
(Photos number 11 and 12 -- This is the look on his face when I bared my teeth and showed him my fake purple vampire fangs, haha! I had the camera ready. Picture 13 -- he had to wear some too.)

Day 24

Today, we got to Skype with Daddy for the first time since he got to Afghanistan! Jack played CARS with him and was very happy to see him. We got to see Daddy's teeny tiny office and even heard some jets flying over. That was kinda cool. :)
Today was also my football mini-shoots and the pics turned out great! Jack had a few mini-breakdowns because he thinks he is supposed to be in every single photo (as seen below) but he did get some great time playing with Liam, who is also 3.
When we left the ballpark, Jack was positively WAILING for "Mommy's Coke!", so I stopped by Zaxbys to get a couple of drinks (because I was really craving some tea). I asked him ten times if he wanted coke or teababies (that is what he calls tea because I always ask him "Do you want some tea, baby?") and he howled that he wanted "MOMMY'S COKE, NOT TEABABIES!". So, what do you think he did just as soon as the lady at the window handed me his coke and my tea? He reverses and yells and yells that he needs his teababies! So, of course, I end up having to surrender my tea for some stupid coke and he guzzled it all down. Blah!
For the rest of the night, we just hung out and watched CARS and played CARS and talked about CARS, I also found out that he is STILL weird about that stupid Backyardigans episode with the Garbage Truck. Like a year ago, that episode ALWAYS made him cry and cry and scream and cry but I thought he had forgotten it. NOT SO! He saw the Backyardigans on tv tonight and started hiding his eyes. I asked him what in the world he was doing and he said he was scared of the garbage truck. I cannot believe he remembered that. That is just weird. For the rest of the night, he acted all freaked out about the darn garbage truck. I think I will take him outside tomorrow when they come pick up our trash, so he can see that garbage trucks are not scary. Sheesh.
Other than that, he dumped a glass of freezing water on my head when I was in the tub, washing my face, lol. He also got into the garbage and found some 3 day old juice box and he squirted that on my head. Yay. Now, I have frizzy hair that smells like wine. Oh! I also introduced him to The Wizard of Oz tonight (thanks YouTube!) and he LOVED IT! His favorite thing was the Horse of Many Colors and he just screamed and laughed and clapped his hands every time it changed, hehe! It was soooooooo cute! We watched that part at least 10 times. He liked the Munchkins too and called them "friends". We didn't watch any of the witch parts cause heaven knows the garbage truck was scary enough for one night.

Today was Jack's first day of being left alone with a babysitter!! DUM DUM DUUUUMMMMMM! I was way more nervous than I thought I would be because I know all of the trouble he can get himself into. A photography client and friend of mine, Keirsten, came with her sweet baby to stay at the house while I was gone. I absolutely obsessed over this for a week. I just knew he was going to get sick or something but it went off without a hitch. He actually invited Keirsten into his room and CLOSED THE DOOR on me! Ha! I went a shot a gorgeous wedding and Jack had a great time.
When I got home, Pixie had been missing outside for three hours! I was so scared she was gone but I had a feeling she wouldn't go far. Sure enough, I called for her out of the window of my car as I drove around the block and she popped out of a neighbor's bush, meowing. I ran barefoot up their lawn to get her calling, "Mama's here! Come to Mama, Pixie!" and I realized that there was a guy outside grilling and looking at me like I was crazy. Oh well. They have already seen me chase Jack down the street with him in his Pull-Ups only and me wearing no bra and no shoes, shouting threats the whole way. So, I guess that makes me the neighborhood weirdo. Lifelong goal: Achieved.
I have been bad and don't have pictures of Jack from the past few days but I do have some from the wedding. Cheers!
