Day 57

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Today was actually a lot of fun!  It was daylight saving time, so I SHOULD have gotten an extra hour of sleep.  Not so.  Not only did Jack not sleep for an extra hour....he actually woke up an hour earlier than he should've in the first place!  Aw man!  Jackson got his tv privilages taken away early in the day by hitting me.  He has started getting really irritable when there is background noise while he watches tv.  He is an intolerant little thing anyway but when he is watching his stories?  Huh.  Forget about it.  He goes bananas if I watch tv, talk on the phone, try to take a bath, sing...anything that makes even the slightest bit of noise.  He even gets mad when I am trying to cook.  Anyway, I was talking to mom and he hit me in the back, so he got grounded from the tv.  I took him to the park and he sulked and threw acorns for a few minutes because I made him wear his hoodie but then he started having fun.  In one of the photos, you can see him giving me the stink-eye for taking his picture while he is trying to climb.  The "teenager attitude" begins early, I guess.  After a few minutes of blissful peace, I heard him scream a little piercing scream and he ran to me where I was sitting on the bench and hollered, "Oh no!  It is a wizard!"  Well, that definately caught my attention, so I asked, "Oh wow!  What does the wizard look like?!"  but he shook his head and said, "No, it is a wizard".  I was kind of confused, so I asked him, "Well Jacky, what kind of wizard?" and he said, "NO, a WIzard!" like he was explaining something simple to someone who was very stupid.  We went round and round like this until I realized that he meant a LIZARD!  Haha!!!  I asked him what the wizard..I mean LIZARD looked like and he said it was "sad and black".  I asked him why it was sad and he said it was because he tried to throw rocks at it.  After all of this, I was really interested in this lizard, so I walked over to the steps of the playground and Jack immediately started pointing and yelling, "The WIZARD!" and I looked closely and saw a little beetle, hahahaha!  He was fascinated with it and even poked it a few times before I transplanted it onto a tree so it wouldn't get examined to death.  We played a little while longer until he threw a rock at a little girl and I took him home.  He screamed from the backseat and threw boogers at me because he was furious about leaving.  *sigh*

When we got home, he ate everything in the house and called me a "siwwy, giwwy gumdrop", haha.  What a weird little kiddo...

Day 56

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Today, I woke up and it was like 20 degrees and I had a bridal shoot at 10:00!  Yikes!  Thankfully, it warmed up a little bit by then.  I loaded Jack in the car (wearing his new turkey shirt) and we went to the scariest house ever to ask permission to use their scariest barn ever in my photo shoot.  The guy was really nice and not scary at all and he said it was okay, so I met Natalie there and did some beautiful photos of her.  Then, we went to a field that was not remotely scary, thankfully, and did a balloon release in honor of her dad, who passed away in September.  It was really lovely!  Of course, I got some photos of Jack too, hehe.  Afterward, I braved Wal-mart and bought some groceries because we had NO food in the house.  Alabama decided to suck and lose to LSU in a bid to lose almost ALL of their SEC games this year, which is fine just as long since they beat Arkansas (I guess.).  Ugh.  Toward the end of the night, Jack started getting really grumpy and mean, so I put him in bed much to his dismay.  Here is what it sounded like after I turned off the lights and tucked him in:

"OH NO, Mommy!  I not sweepy!  Pwease do not make me go to bed!  I am your baby and I do not want to go to sweep.  I not sweepy!  I no....ZzZzZzzzzzzzzzzzz", lol.

Day 55

Friday, November 5, 2010

I stayed up almost all night with excruciating pain but, thankfully, I woke up to find it was a lot better.  It was like my ribs had to exorcize some kind of demon in the night.  Whew...it was bad.  Unfortunately, Garry had panicked and called all kinds of folks, so I slept through Brandon calling me and knocking on the door.  I called him back as soon as I woke up and he came over to bring me and Jack some lunch, which was really nice!  I feel like I talked his ear off because I am so rarely around other adults.  I imagine he was ready to escape when he left, lol.  After Brandon left, I pretty much just worked on Jack's shirt all day because I was still sore.  Jack wanted to stay inside because it was SO cold out and that was okay with me.  He played really nicely and watched a little bit of tv and he went to sleep without a problem at all.  :)

Day 54

Thursday, November 4, 2010

Today was not great.  I hardly slept at all and woke up hurting SO badly, I could hardly breathe.  Nothing helped at all -- not Advil, not taking a bath (and got Pixie pushed back on top of me again).  I finally called mom at work and told her about what was going on and she suggested that I might have shingles!  I looked up the symptoms and my pain and rash matched up to the symptoms listed perfectly.  It was good to know that I didn't go sleepwalking and fall out of a tree but it was not great to know that I would be stuck with the pain until it went away.  Because I didn't have anything to do, I drug myself into the car with Jack and we went to JoAnne's Fabric for me to get some material to make him a turkey shirt for Thanksgiving.  I barely made it out of there and back home before I had to take yet 4 more Advil.  I let Jack out to play but he just moped around the yard, asking to go to the park, so I fed him and put him in bed.  That was about it..

Day 53

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Today was...eventful.  My ribs were still killing me and were beginning to feel like they had been crushed, which is not good.  Jackson just could NOT stay out of trouble today and I had to get him outside before I duct-taped him to the wall with some extra over his mouth for good measure.  I took him outside to play for a while and got the most hilarious series of photos of a disgruntled Jack ever, lol.  He was mad at me because he wanted me to take his photo and he didn't know I was snapping away as he threw his tantrum.  So funny.  I was moving kinda slow today so at one point, I went to the garage to let the cat in.  By the time I got back in the kitchen, Jack had crawled up on the counter with a box of Nerds from his Halloween candy and was trying to saw it open with a butcher knife.  *sigh*  That child just can NOT stay out of trouble.  After his bath, he wrapped up in a towel and pranced around saying, "Oh my! Look at my beautiful dress!"  Hahaha!  It was so funny!  Not as funny was when he pushed Pixie into the bathtub on top of me.  Oh well.  She needed a bath anyway, I guess.  :P

Day 52

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Today was Sam's third birthday! Happy Birthday to Sam!  I finished his little Woody t-shirt today and it is going to be too big for him for a few months but it is still really cute.  And I am sure he will enjoy it then too.  It was rainy and gross today, so Jack and I stayed indoors and I made my famous potato soup.  It was so good!  Jack ate maybe a bite and a half and decided he needed a nap, so I was able to clean and get some stuff done.  He passed out half-standing and half-laying on the sofa and completely naked, lol.  And I got all of the soup to myself after I put him in bed, so that was good, lol.  My ribs were hurting even worse today than they were yesterday and I was starting to get a rash right on top of the spot where the most pain was.  So...that was weird.  Ibuprofen wasn't helping at all, either -- not even four of them!

Day 51

Monday, November 1, 2010

Today was great.  Absolutely perfect!  Jack was a doll all day long, despite having a rough night.  He was so keyed up from Halloween that he tossed and turned and talked a lot and, at one point, he jumped out of bed and ran for the bedroom door at around 4:00am!  I called, "Jackson!" and he yelled, "MOMMY!!!" in a scared voice and ran back to the bed and cried for a second and then passed back out, lol.  I think he was just still asleep when he ran for the door.  Anyway, he woke up happy and mischevious and he is starting to say the funniest things!  He heard the song "In Da Club" by 50 cent on the radio today and he made up his own rap, lol.  He swaggered around the house saying, "You can find me in the clubhouse....oh yeah, it's Jacky in the clubhouse.."  Hahahaha!  That was so funny!  We played games and hung out all day long and he was even good at Wal-Mart and I didn't even buy a car for him this time! Being on a schedule and having me stay home with him full-time has made a 1000% difference in the way he behaves and I am loving it!

I kind of had photo overload this past weekend, so I didn't take any today.   Instead, I will share some photos that JACK has taken with my phone over the past few months, lol.  They are all pretty random but cute.  :)
