Super Hero Jack

I haven't written a blog or taken photos in a while because I have been kind of "meh" about everything. I have been missing my friends and family back home a bit and haven't really connected with anyone here, so it has been kind of lonely. I absolutely love it here but I am kind of on my own unless Jackson is around. He is pretty much my only companion except the cats.

So, Jackson is into The Avengers BIG TIME! He is mostly into Thor and Loki though which is okay with me because Thor and Loki! Haha, just kidding. >.>

I am going to try to take some Fall photos of him tomorrow, if he lets me.

 

Be Still, Brick.

I swear, kids play the weirdest games. I love to ask Jack what he played on the playground every single day because he always comes back with the most creative answers. His latest two are "Tickle Ghosts" and "Be Still, Brick". They are played exactly how you would imagine. Jack was excited that he got to be a brick, so that is cool. I guess.

 

Grandmama sent him a care package and included some nasty looking fake witches fingers. Apparently, they can be worn on little toes too...

 

 

Oh! Speaking of toes, I totally broke one of mine. Great, huh?! I was chasing Jack up the stairs and I tripped like a complete doofus and hurt the first joint of my fourth toe. It is slowly turning colors and swelling but I can still walk on my foot, so that is good. And before anyone wonders: Yes, those red spots are the faint scars of my Miss Junebug attack almost 2 years ago. She gave me something to always remember her by, lol.

 

Maybe I should just go ahead and chop this particular food off... It seems to be bad luck.

 

 

 



Craft Day

Well, this weekend was pretty boring, to be honest. Garry came home on Saturday but we didn't really do anything on Saturday or on Sunday. Jackson was absolutely WILD all day today, so I decided that we needed to do some crafts to keep him busy. The first thing we did was a Fall fingerprint tree. It was a lot of fun and Jack loved choosing where to put the different colors! 

I can't wait to frame it and put it somewhere that I can see it all of the time! I found the tree as a free printable online and I went into Photoshop and added the word "thankful". I think it turned out so cute!

After we did the tree, we were still not finished crafting, so I let Jack choose our next project. He chose to make a halloween pendant banner! Thankfully, I have a bunch of scrapbook and construction paper laying around and we had all of the colors we needed. Jack did the gluing and I did the cutting and coloring. Our banner has an owl, candy corn, werewolf, pumpkin, cat and "franken". Jack said that his favorite is the cat and I just can't choose my favorite! We are going to have to find somewhere fun to hang it where we can see it all of the time. Maybe we can hang it in the livingroom somewhere.

So, this happened a few days ago. While I was finishing unpacking my room, Jack was writing a letter to a friend at school. I thought that he was just "writing" until I saw this:

"JACKSON CONN AND ADDSEN LOVE HAPY FACE"

He wrote, with NO help, exactly what he wanted to say to his friend! Holy moly, that surprised me. I mean, he just turned five years old and he is already writing notes. I had to ask him if this little girl was a friend or a "girlfriend" and he said that she is just a nice friend. Whew....he is growing up so fast.

OH OH! I forgot! We watched "The Avengers" tonight and I laughed myself silly when this happened:

God only knows that if I were to be an Avenger, I would be The Hulk.

Hitscherhof Farm Festival

Happy First Day of Fall! Fall is my favorite time of year and I am so, so excited to be here in Germany because there is SO much to do. Garry is currently in California, so Jack and I had the day to ourselves and I decided to take him to the Hitscherhof Farm Festival. It was absolutely positively gorgeous and there was so much to do. Jack behaved himself (mostly) and is not filthy dirty and has a haystack in his hair.

 

First of all, Miss Junebug decided to be King when we were leaving the house. It is a good look for her, no?

 

 

So after driving to Landstuhl for gas and back through Bruchmulbach and up the "mountain" down a rather thrilling one and a half lane road with a speed limit of 70km! I have really gotten the hang of driving here but some of these people are pretty brave. The village was just so precious and there were pumpkins absolutely everywhere!

 

We didn't go in the corn maze because I figured it would make Jack mad if we got lost. He did lay in front of the sign though and later told me "I was being Jesus!". I asked him how in the world he was being Jesus and he said that "I was asleep in the hay." Like Away In A Manger. Oh Jack...
