Day 30

Today was pretty rough for me AND for Jack.  I had my Pumpkin Patch shoots and ended up shooting 16 shoots in 5 hours and Jack had to stay with a lady I know who does the FCC home care on base.  He was okay until JUST before I left to pick him up and he started crying for me.  So sad!  I talked to him on the phone and he was okay after that.  Apparently, Alyssa told him "no" and he didn't like that at all, haha!  My shoots went well but I was siiiiiiick by the time I got home.  I came thisclose to passing out but I went straight to the fridge and drank a ton of water and ate a pickle and felt better, lol.  After Jack and I got to spend some good time together, we ran to Walmart and I bought him a new car (the Unidentified Flying Mater toys are out now) and we ran to Cabot to give Miss Ashley some of her props back and some discs.  He passed out and slept for almost an hour in the car -- poor little guy!  He woke up happy and ate like a horse though and he went to sleep at a reasonable hour.  I think we might have left the staying up all night behind us!  *knocking on wood*

Today was not incredibly eventful at all.  We pretty much stayed home all day long and watched the air show.  Jack was having one of his anti-social days where he just wants to take my iPhone, look up the CARS movie on it and act it out with his own cars, so I didn't really know what to do with myself!  He is such a funny little kid.  I took him out to watch the air show and he was SO unimpressed.  Jets were flying in formation right over our rooftop and he was rolling Mater and Lightning McQueen down our driveway without even looking up!  Anyway, we had a nice day and he was a good boy.

I woke up this morning feeling HORRIBLE!!!  It was like strep throat and the flu and SARS and ebola and paper cuts all mixed up in one big cocktail which can only mean that it is ALLERGY SEASON again!  Boooooo.  To his credit, Jack seems to be fine except for a runny nose and some congestion which has caused a little bit of diarrhea.  Speaking of that, he still makes it to the potty, which is great!  I saw him walking around with his butt stuck out and his legs clenched (which means he has to poop), so I told him to go to the potty.  I ran to get more toilet paper and got to the bathroom just in time to hear him have a GIANT fart and he yelled, "DADGUM!"  Thanks, Mater.  I really appreciate that one.  LMBO -- I couldn't help but laugh at that.

We pretty much stuck close to the house today because I felt awful and because we have a big day tomorrow.  We got to watch the Thunderbirds practice right above the backyard, which was cool.  We are going to CabotFest and the Pumpkin Patch to get some pictures of Jack and a little friend, so I put Jack in bed on time.  Just as I got him to sleep, I smelled the most horrible smell.  It was completely rancid....like a burning skunk.  I actually walked all around the house inside and outside to make sure the house wasn't on fire somewhere!  I am guessing it is the engines getting ready for the air show but it is gross!!!

Ugh.  Another day down. 159 to go.

Back to Burns Park this morning to meet Miss Tiffany and Saige for a Wizard of Oz shoot!  It was a lot of fun and Jack tried to get naked almost immediately.  *sigh*  I managed to get him dressed and let him go barefoot and we did a lot of photos and had a great time.  After that, we found Transberry Juice and Lightning McQueen who were lost in the leaves and we drove to the Rocket Slide.  There were lots of big, big boys on it (don't these kids go to school?), so we drove to the smaller playground.  Apparently, nothing is much fun anymore now that he has experienced the Rocket Slide.  After that, we headed home and pretty much stayed outside for the rest of the day to watch the jets practice for the Air Show on Sat and Sun.  Jack was unimpressed, even though they were flying right over the house!  I guess that is what happens when you are born on an Air Force base and live on one all of your life.  He asked me to let him take a bath last night and I told him to "hold on just a sec cause I have to finish wiping off the counter" and he said, "that's cool -- no worries.".  Wha?!  LOL!  When he slid down a slide, he said, "Whoa, that was so cool!"  He is such a funny little kiddo!

Zoo day!  Today, Jack and I went to the zoo with Keirsten and Ainsley.  We had a good time and Jack walked the whole time -- no strollers for me!  Our favorite part was feeding the giraffe!  I held out a branch of leaves to the giraffe and he leaned over and grabbed it with his long tongue.  His head was right there just inches from my hand!  I gave Jack a branch and held him over there and he fed the giraffe twice too and just laughed and laughed.  It was too cool!  We got caught in an elephant's dust bath, Mommy got hissed at by a Serval and Jack got his strawberry slushie.  He fell asleep on the way home and had a little nap but he was GRUMPY when we got home!  I worked on his shirt some more and almost finished it.  Whew, that thing is fun but it is a PAIN!
