Just taking care of Jack today. Poor baby. He is already feeling a little bit better -- I can tell. This coughing is getting old though! We have to get up every single morning at 2:30 or 3:00 and sit in a bathroom filled with steam. Man, I am tired!

Day 82
Thursday, December 2, 2010
Took Jack to the doc today and he has a sinus infection and an ear infection. I knew my baby didn't just have a cold. He got a liquid Z-pack and some Motrin. I just hope he isn't allergic to the Z-pack!! Poor little guy. :(
Afterward, I picked up a friend and we all went out to eat at Chilis and ran downtown for a minute. Jack started feeling bad and I took him home.

Today, I took Jackson to get our Christmas tree! It is one of our Christmas traditions to get the tree every year on December 1 and this year is special because it is our first Christmas in our new home!! I had planned on taking him to Motley's Christmas Tree Farm and cutting the tree ourselves, so that is where we went first. We got there and I let Jack play with the chickens and feed the animals and swing and he even had a little friend to play with for a while. Then we went to look for a tree. Because our ceilings are so high, I wanted to get at least an 8' tree but they were $220!!! HOLY MOLY! Needless to say, we left without a tree.
For the past few years, we have gotten our trees at Lowe's, so Jack and I went to eat at Chik fil A on McCain and then went to the Lowe's next door. We left with a $40 9' tree tied to the top of the car! Unfortunately, it was not tied very well because, as we turned into the subdivision, the tree turned sideways!! We got some very strange looks from the neighbors, haha.
I dragged that big thing in and Jack and I decorated it while listening to Christmas music and we had a good time but Jack seemed to not feel very well. Today marked 17 days in a row that he has been sick with what the doctor said was a cold and I am taking him for a check-up tomorrow. :(

Today started off a bit grumpy for me but I recovered after a trip to Hobby Lobby with Jack to replace some broken ornaments. It actually ended up being a wonderful night! I made Baked Potato Soup and hot chocolate and we watched Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I love making Christmas memories with my little guy! He is so sweet! And Mobigo ended up being the best.gift.ever! It has almost totally freed my iPhone from Jack's clutches, which is great! He went to bed just fine but I felt him twitching in his sleep in the night and he was burning up when I felt his head -- it scared me to death! I quickly realized that he was just hot because the house was so hot. I actually had to turn on the air and he quickly got cool again.

Jack woke up happy and early, so we played in the room until Grandmama had finished getting ready and we checked out and went back to breakfast at Panera Bread. I really wanted to go to some of the touristy spots but we ended up going to Walmart again. :/ We did get to have Jack's photos taken with a real reindeer in the parking lot though! That was pretty cool! Afterward, we went to eat at Steak & Shake and then checked in at the Branson Scenic Railway to ride the Polar Express!!! Jack wore his pjs and had the most marvelous time running around with all of the kids. I bought him a special golden ticket and a t-shirt and Grandmama bought him a train. Finally, we boarded and had a seat on the Silver Chef car. The train started moving and they read the Polar Express story from the book and they brought hot cocoa and cookies. Jack just didn't know what to think! He was kind of solomn but I have learned that means he is just taking things in. Soon, the train made it to the "North Pole" and Santa and Mrs. Claus boarded and gave all of the kids a bell -- just like in the movie! Jack was super-excited about that. He stopped and talked to Jack for quite a while and Jack thought that was so neat. After the train ride, it was time to head home!
On the way home, Jack fell asleep after about 15 minutes and slept almost the whole darn way! He didn't wake up again until we were in Conway! The trip home was much faster, thanks to me driving a bit over the speed limit. But not too much. ;)
It was SUCH a fun trip and I am surely planning on doing it again next year!

On to Branson! That was one funky trip up to Branson. First of all, I woke up early and met Ashley downtown to do a Sock Monkey shoot for Pink & Blue. We all had a great time and had planned on leaving straight out for Branson....buuuuuut Mom forgot her luggage. UGH! So, we had to turn around and go home and she was nervous about the trip and thought Jack should play for a while. So we left out way later than we were supposed to. The trip through the mountains was really beautiful but very UP and DOWN and TWISTY and TURNY and I don't think anyone felt well by the time we got through the Ozarks. We stopped for food and Jack just didn't really want to eat much and he fell asleep about 20 minutes before we got to the hotel. I took him in and put him right to bed and we were hanging out when he suddenly rolled over on his belly and some HORRIBLE noises started coming from his Pull-ups! It smelled like something crawled up there and died! Suddenly, he woke up VERY upset and acting sick, so Mom fled and I cleaned him up and calmed him down. I bribed him with getting his choice of treat out of the snack machine and a "Spwite-bwight" (Sprite) out of the coke machine and he got dressed and ran down the hallway with me. He chose Cheetos and Sprite and we walked outside and up all of the stairs to the gazebo to look at the Christmas lights and talk. We actually had a really nice little time together. After that, we went to find Grandmama and went to unload the car only to discover that she had left her luggage. AGAIN!!!!! OMG! So, we went to Walmart and got some necessities for her and she bought Jack a ton of new toys to play with in the room. We also ran to get some food at Panera Bread and then went over to the Moon River hotel and looked at ALL of the lights! Jack broke one and we got the heck out of there, haha. He absolutely loved all of the lights -- especially the ones shaped like animals and he loved the Koi pond too. He ended up sleeping really good and slept all night. :)

Today, we waited on Grandmama to come visit. I was SO happy I got Jack to take a nap so that he could stay up a little bit later to visit with her but he woke up FREAKING OUT over a piece of string on his finger! It wasn't wrapped around or anything. It was underneath his pillow all wadded up and he must've thought it was some kind of weird monster or something. Who knows?
Before mom got there, I was talking to him about Santa's reindeer and trying to teach him their names.
Me: "Jack? What are the names of Santa's reindeer?"
Jack: "Rudolph and Clargita and Ghost and Boost!"
Hahahaha!!!
Anyway, we watched the Alabama/Auburn game and it didn't turn out exactly the way we hoped (Auburn won) and then mom got here to play! And she brought a sleigh-load of presents for Jack to open! He was soooo excited and he got some really fun stuff. By far, his favorite present was his Mobigo and games!
We ended up going to sleep early, so that we could leave for Branson and the Polar Express tomorrow!!

Day 75
Thursday, November 25, 2010
As soon as we woke up this morning, Jackson jumped in front of the tv because the Thanksgiving Day Parade was already on! He just went absolutely positvely bonkers! He LOVED it! He would see the Spongebob balloon and jump up and down on the sofa "IT'S SPONGEBOB, MOMMY!! OH MY GOODNESS!!" then he would see a band "THEY ARE PLAYING BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!" but none of that compared to Santa Claus "MOOOOOOOOOMMYYYYY!!!! IT'S SANTA CLAUS!!!!"
I spent almost all day cooking green bean casserole, dressing, chicken and dumplings and cornbread and Jack rejected ALL of it. He told me he wanted Popeyes! When I tried to get him to taste it, he wouldn't do it because he said it had rice in it, hahahaha!! He has learned that he can't eat anything with rice and he is using it to his advantage!! Little booger! I ended up giving him hot cocoa with whipped cream (the pic below is when I sprayed whipped cream in his mouth) and feeding him a Hungry Man dinner, which he ate as if it was a gourmet meal. Oh well. More for me.
